Becoming a member...

We encourage anyone with an interest in theatre to get involved. On stage, backstage, costume making, prop making, sound engineering, lighting design and much, much more! If you want to get involved, here's how:

FULL MEMBERSHIP

To hold a full membership, you have to audition to join the society. Auditions are held every six months, usually after the previous show has finished. For the audition you need to prepare a song to sing with either sheet music or a backing track. You also need to bring a piece of script to act out and you will be taught a short piece of movement on the night that will be performed in groups.

A full membership allows you to perform in any show that DAODS puts on, either in the hall or in any external venues.

PATRON MEMBERSHIP

Our Patron members are integral to the success of the Society. They can attend rehearsals for any of our shows and many of our patrons are heavily involved in the Society behind the scenes helping out with costumes, set building, society functions and take on many other roles to help DAODS function smoothly. Patrons are kept up to date on all activities and future plans for the Society and can get invovled with as much or as little as they like.

Anyone can become a patron and there is no need to audition as patrons do not take part in our main shows at the Orchard Theatre. Patrons do regularly take part, however, in our shows that we perform at our own Heathfields Hall and many patrons have gone on to become full members of the Society having previously appeared in shows at the hall.

YOUTH GROUP

We are relaunching our Youth Group in September 2019 and will have lots more information coming out about what we have planned over the next few months! If you are interested in hearing more about what we have in store then get in touch on the contact form below!
