As DAODS’ own version of the Oscars, the Freddies are given out every year at the Dinner Dance by the previous years winner of the Outstanding Contribution to the Society award. In 2017 this was Allex Tyrrell and he was assisted on stage by former Chairman Fred Hall. Fred began the tradition of giving out the awards each year in order to celebrate not only some of the fantastic performances given throughout year but also to highlight the excellent work done by members of the society off stage.
